This lining features an iconic American painting by the artist Emanuel Leutze. Leutze finished a first version of the painting in 1850, but it was damaged by fire in his studio just after it was completed. It was subsequently restored, but then in 1942, it was destroyed in an Allied bombing raid. The second painting, a larger replica of the first, was then ordered by a Parisian art trader and it was placed on exhibition in New York in 1851.
Usage: Generally, we find tailors prefer to work with two panels of a single painting per jacket in order to line up the image along the back seam. Two linings can be purchased at the automatically discount price of £250. For full details on how best to use our linings, click here: Linings FAQ.
